JA Charity Ball A Success
Satuday night's Junior Auxiliary (JA) Charity Ball was an overall success, according to the organization's publicity chairman Laurie Reasoner.
On Monday, Reasoner was unable to provide an estimate of money raised, but said the ball was a sell-out and was confident the event, themed “JA Feng Shui — bringing good fortune to those less fortunate," equaled last year's efforts.
“It was an overall huge success," Reasoner said. “We had a great turnout. It was very successful, just like last year or better."
She said the money raised from the banquet will go toward funding city projects proposed by different organizations within the community, such as The Boys and Girls Club, area schools and Help Network.
Through their fund-raising efforts, JA has already committed to a variety of projects for 2007-08, totaling approximately $80,000, not to mention the 5,000 hours of community service provided annually by members. read more
